Zach Watson

Senior Pastor

Pastor Zach Watson serves as Lead Pastor of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia. For Zach, coming to Montgomery Memorial is coming home. He grew up in the East Hall area of Gainesville, and he counts it a joy to shepherd a congregation in the community that shaped him.

Eighteen years ago, Zach surrendered to God's call to preach His Word, and that calling has defined his life ever since. He preaches through books of the Bible, aiming for sermons that are clear, warm, and centered on Christ, with application woven throughout. He believes every sermon should make the gospel plain, so that members and guests alike hear how to be made right with God.

Zach carries a deep passion for evangelism and discipleship. He longs to see people come to faith in Jesus, and he is just as committed to helping believers grow into mature, joyful followers of Christ who can share their faith with others. His prayer is for Montgomery Memorial to be a church where the lost are reached, the saved are equipped, and every member is growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.

To sharpen his preaching, Zach is completing a Master's degree in Biblical Preaching at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Zach and his wife, Juli, were married on March 27, 2010, and have two children, Amelia and Kayden. Their family loves spending time together, and Hilton Head Island is one of their favorite places to slip away.

Zach is an avid golfer, so on a free afternoon you might find him on the course. He is also a devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan, so don't be surprised to hear a little "Rocky Top" on fall Saturdays.

Pastor Zach and his family are grateful to serve the Lord alongside the people of Montgomery Memorial.
